Maekawazakura Cherry Tree (in Front of Furusato Ochi Denshokan)

This weeping cherry tree, almost large enough to cover the street, stands with blossoming branches cascading downward giving the impression of a cherry blossom shower. If you photograph this cherry tree and the nearby building that still retains an atmosphere of the olden days (Furusato Ochi Denshokan), you will have a photo of the good old days of Japan. It received the Incentive Award in the Town/Greenery Division of the 18th Shimane Tourism Awards. Some wild pasqueflowers, which is an endangered species, are growing around the old folk house. Please be careful not to step on them.
